SUSTAINABLE HEALING ONLINE CLASSES

There are many incredible in-person classes available to support those seeking deeper emotional healing in their lives.  It’s also been encouraging to see the number of high-quality online classes developed over recent years to support those wanting to go deeper in their healing for both mental health and addictive challenges. Below, we list many of those we’re aware of, with more to come in the future. We also include testimonials and commentary to help you decide whether to give one a try.

Online classes exploring more lasting healing for mental health challenges:

Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR)

This is the most famous mindfulness class in the world, taught on 6 continents to 10s of thousands of people for 30 years – with many research studies backing up its impact on both physical and emotional health. Online MBSR options are also available here from the University of Massachusetts (or here) and here in a well-regarded free version in both English and Spanish.  This workbook and this concise summary text also provide helpful guides for doing it in your own home. (You can also find in-person classes across the nation and in other countries here and local to the CSH’s home base of Utah in Ogdenin the Salt Lake areain Davis County, and in Utah county).

Nedley Depression and Anxiety Recovery Program

This educational kit provides an 8-part series of DVD videos and workbook bringing this ground-breaking, pioneering therapeutic lifestyle intervention into your own home.  The course explores a large variety of factors that predispose depression and anxiety – and helps participants identify which factors are present in their own lives. (A listing for in-person classes and retreats are also available – with separate listings for Utah here). You can also see here an analysis of sustainable healing themes that those among us who are passionate about careful and considered research have gathered from reviewing experiential reports freely shared by many participants. 

Lift

(Web experience| iOS App Store | Google Play App Store) Features 40+ online lessons providing guidance on an array of ways to spark deeper levels of healing and move towards more sustainable recovery from depression and anxiety.  This includes mindfulness techniques and various therapeutic lifestyle changes, along with support to track various levels of progress and an online forum to interact with others around the world sharing encouragement and hope. Mindweather 101

This online course developed by mindfulness teachers with mental health expertise includes 7+ hours of guidance from 32 different mindfulness teachers, clinical researchers and therapists (see bios here) exploring a gentle, and creative approach to intense, painful emotions and dark, disturbing thoughts (click here to access a full written transcript; although the full class is available at Mindweather.org, direct links to the videos are available here as individual class segments). Fortify

(Web experienceiOS App Store | Google Play App Store) This online platform has reached nearly 200K people in 155 countries to date.  It features 40+ online animated lessons exploring key foundations in finding freedom from pornography and sexual compulsivity, including mindfulness and various therapeutic lifestyle changes that many have found indirectly helpful in growing their resolve.  Includes support to track various levels of progress and an online forum to interact with others around the world sharing strength and hope.
